Four figures on the Underground, hardened into the particular separateness the carriage enforces — each one specific, finished, sealed. At the left a fifth figure refuses to settle: painted as if mid-dissolution, neither quite arriving nor leaving. 

Proximity without contact. Everyone present; no one quite there.
